Health and Safety
At TechWest we take health and safety very seriously. Our primary goal both on location and at any of our premises is to ensure that our workforce arrives home safely at the end of each day.
We have built a framework for maintaining a healthy and safe working environment by continually monitoring and exercising industry regulations and best practices.
TechWest Inc. requires all employees, consultants and third-party sub-contractors to adhere to and participate in both our customerʼs and our own health and safety programs
SAFETY AND LOSS PREVENTION POLICY STATEMENT
It is TechWest’s commitment to provide a safe and healthy workplace environment for our workers. TechWest recognizes the right of all employees to work in a safe and healthy environment. The Safety and Loss Prevention Program is designed with this goal in mind and is the shared responsibility of every employee. Working together, we are able not only to attain excellence in all aspects of our operation but also to maintain a safety record that will be the envy of the industry.
At TechWest, we believe an effective safety and loss prevention program is the cornerstone of good operating practice. It is our policy to:
- Provide and verify training as required;
- Conduct site and task specific hazard assessments;
- Use CSA approved personal protective equipment as needed;
- Properly maintain tools, equipment and facilities;
- Conduct informal and formal inspections to find and correct substandard acts or conditions;
- Investigate all incidents and accidents with the objective of preventing recurrence;
Managers must promote and demonstrate safe work practices and ensure workers understand that it is everyone’s right to work in a safe and healthy workplace. Each worker is responsible to work safely.
All employees are accountable for their actions and decisions. Failure to comply with safety policies, practices and procedures will be cause for disciplinary action. Remember that safety is as important as production, quality and cost control.
Although the policies, practices and procedures for TechWest are in compliance with or exceed current legislative requirements, they do not take precedence over Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code. All employees must ensure they operate within the legislation governing their specific place of operation.
TechWest is committed to creating a safe and healthy environment for all personnel involved on our worksites.
Please remember that safety is no accident.
